The Sea

A poem I wrote for creative writing club, with minimal review.

the sea

ebbs

and flows.

sometimes

the water

is low

and so

much of

the shore

is exposed,

one could

walk for ages

on dry

sand,

admiring

sea shells.

one might

even

forget

their is a

sea.

and then sometimes the water swallows the beach, and the sand dunes

and all the grasses - the grasses that protect the sand from the wind

and provide shelter for creatures. the sea sometimes reaches the sidewalk,

and makes the road impassable, and at these times it is hard to remember that

the sea is not always like this - that the sea does not consume all for forever

because eventually

the tide will

recede and

you can

walk along

the beach

again.
