Hello there!

I'm Madi. I am from Cincinnati, Ohio.​ I am studying education at Bowling Green State University and will graduate in 2023. I am involved in a Creative Writing Club at BGSU. During my free time I like to read, play video games, and make art. I also like to hang out with my cat Dexter and my dog Bo.

I started this blog to enter a scholarship essay contest. The essay was supposed to be posted on your personal blog to submit it. I didn't actually finish the essay because I was busy with work.  But I created the blog, so I figured I would try to keep it updated. I post creative writing, recipes, occasional school writing assignments, and other thoughts, as well as some of my art.

The blog title comes from the poem "Aedh Wishes for the Cloths of Heaven" by W. B. Yeats. It is one of my favorite poems.

"Had I the heaven's embroidered cloths,
Enwrought with golden and silver light,
The blue and the dim and the dark cloths
Of night and light and the half-light;
I would spread the cloths under your feet:
But I, being poor, have only my dreams;
I have spread my dreams under your feet;
Tread softly because you tread on my dreams."

I thought it might be a fitting title for my blog, as I try to tread softly upon the earth. I want to leave a gentle mark on the people I know and the world I live in. I also hope people tread softly upon what I have here on this blog. It is nothing fancy and nothing perfect, a lot of my writing has minimal editing - this is just a little fun thing for myself. Please be kind and don't take anything too seriously. :)
