A poem I wrote for a creative writing activity I led this summer as a camp counselor. The dam on the Little Miami River was a popular spot at camp.

the sun rises over the dam -

warming and drying

the dew covered rocks

in shades of gray, tan, pink;

the still water

glistens in the light;

all is calm -

all is peaceful
