My Favorite Color

A poem I wrote for my creative writing club; the prompt was "your favorite color."

shallow warm water

against white sand

translucent

sparkling gem

baby soft

fragrant petals

jewel-colored wings

twinkling in the sunlight

bite of mini berries,

sweet or tart

cold sunlight

from a vibrant sky
