A Love Poem

A poem I wrote for my creative writing club for the prompt love.

a dollop of sunlight

glides through the trees,

sunshine yellow wings

glow against verdant needles.

old rocking chairs

fill the air with the smell of aging wood,

softly creak

in harmony with

gentle rain

showering the

covered porch.

soft warm blankets

and adored company

shield from the chill of dusk.
