I participated in Artober this October, using the Inktober prompts! This post has all of my doodles, as well as a little bit of reflection on my experience.

Every October, people release lists of prompts to inspire drawings. I have drawn the occasional prompt in years past, but this year I wanted to follow the official prompt list (pictured above) and try to do a drawing every day.
And I actually did it! Well almost - I only missed one day, the 23rd. The prompt was rip and I couldn't think of what to draw, and then I got distracted making a pie and before I knew it, it was the 24th!
Each doodle is done in watercolor on a note card. I recently bought a watercolor set, and I wanted to practice with it. After a month of watercolor, I don't love the medium. It requires a bit more patience than I am willing to give. (You can really see my lack of patience on the first day when I blurred the fish I had painted when trying to paint the water.)
I tried to include a variety of my interest. That being said almost a fourth of my doodles are inspired by Legend of Zelda. Pokémon came in second with four drawings.
Some of my doodles I really like and I think turned out well. Some of them - not so much. But I wanted to practice and improve more, and I think I have. I spent around 709 minutes, or almost 12 hours painting this month.
I overall enjoyed my experience of Artober. About halfway through the month, I was considering other monthly drawing exercises I could do, but I am ready to take a break now. I have a lot of homework to do, and a few bigger art projects I want to work on.
